Dancing with the Devil

The vampire in this artwork is a redesigned version of VLAD (one of the best-selling vampire art I created 3 years ago). Even if the "victim" in this piece is stripped down and facing the other way, just by the design of the crown, we can tell that he is the prince in my artwork- FOR THE CROWN. The connection between these two characters wasn't intentional, but the poem I wrote for FOR THE CROWN gave this piece more sense. In the poem, the prince hints about the danger upon him, but he never mentions who exactly the hound is. DANCING WITH THE DEVIL provides the answer we're looking for, as well as the aftermath. Vlad is portrayed dancing with the prince's corpse, with a smile on his face, blood still dripping from his fangs... celebrating his victory.

ORIGINAL:

The original art is a watercolor illustration on 8x10" paper. The background is painted with acrylic. Signed and dated. The frame is customized with broken glass crystals. The crystals were originally oval-shaped and red. They look like red blood cells. But blood symbolizes life and the prince in this artwork is dead, so I broke the blood-like crystals to take its "life" away... emphasizing the concept better. Its metaphor continues with how the collector of the original piece handles it. For it is made out of sharp shards, if the collector isn't careful enough, he or she will have to bleed as well.

Art print:
The design is printed on 8x10' matte photo paper using 8 genuine inks providing a result as close to the quality of the original piece.
